Membership types
Member by right:
A person of Congolese Origin (Democratic republic of Congo) residing in Rochester New York.
- A person who has one or both parents are from Democratic republic of Congo
Effective member:
Anyone of Congolese origin who voluntarily fully participate to COCOMRO activities and regularly pays his or her dues
Honorary member:
Anyone who serves COCOMRO, the Congolese people of Rochester New York with highest honors and recognized by the General Assembly and the board of Directors annually.
Benefits
Life Insurance to cover funeral expenses:
This benefit allows members current with their contributions to have funds for the most unexpected expense like funeral expense for a close family member instead of relying on donations that are usually not enough. This group insurance price should be very low to make it attractive to members and also bring new members to this organization.
Utility bills:
As a member of COCOMRO, you will have access to a network of organizations that can assist you with utility bills in case of you’re unemployed or simply cannot afford paying an utility bill at the moment due to unforeseen circumstances. Resources are available to members only and details will be provided to members seeking assistance.
Housing:
Another benefit for members current with their contributions is housing assistance. We are networking with organizations willing to provide housing assistance to our members in need. COCOMRO will connect you to these organizations as part of your member benefits. Eligibility criteria are put in place by these organizations.
Medical bills:
We are also partnering with organizations that can assist our members with their medical bills when members are unable to pay their medical bills. We are providing this benefit as part our your adherence and monthly contributions to COCOMRO. We will connect needy members to our partners for assistance.
Tuition:
Tuition assistance is also provided to our current members as part of their COCOMRO benefits. Our partners set the eligibility criteria. COCOMRO will provide referral for our members seeking tuition assistance.
We are committed to bring our community to the next level by bringing these benefits to you. However, in order to reach the next level, we will need our members to stay current with their annually contributions. We are working diligently to set up recurring payments for our members to avoid missing their annually contributions and losing their benefits. A life insurance and other benefits for $35 is very generous and affordable compared to current market price and we, as a community, should jump on the offer.
