The Congolese Community of Rochester is a welcoming home for individuals and families from the Democratic Republic of Congo living in our region. We celebrate our culture, support one another through the challenges of resettlement, and work together to build a strong, connected future.

Mission

We are Congolese from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Being aware that only fraternal union can meet the challenges of situations represented by social events such as marriage, birth, national holidays and others that are of interest to and are celebrated by the whole community, we, the Congolese Community in Rochester New York (COCOMRO) facilitate the integration of people of Congolese decent in American society. All the while providing support with resources available through the community and in collaboration with other agencies. Transcending our ethnic and linguistic diversities, and anxious to ensure that the benefits of our human values continue for generations to come, we have decided to relaunch our social welfare community, a non-profit association.

Vision

COCOMRO’s main objective is to unite the Congolese for a common cause; based on mutual aid in time of need. COCOMRO facilitates young people’s search and application for scholarship opportunities allowing them to fulfil their life goals. COCOMRO is here to provide services for citizenship applications and other immigration needs. COCOMRO operates throughout Rochester, New York. It may affiliate itself to other mutual societies of the same nature operating in the United States of America.
